About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer Screening Examiner at a logistics and distribution location in Indianapolis, Indiana, you will use X-ray screening equipment to inspect packages and materials, screen personnel and permitted items, monitor assigned areas, and help identify security-related concerns. You will maintain a professional presence, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and support efficient operations through teamwork and integrity. The position pays $17.22 per hour and is scheduled Monday and Thursday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Screen personnel, visitors, and permitted items entering designated areas; inspect credentials, packages, and belongings as required.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorization, and report suspicious activity, prohibited items, or policy violations.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow site-specific protocols, and communicate with supervisors and emergency responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, facility entrances, loading areas, and perimeter locations.
Document observations and complete required reports.
