Security Officer Full Time Gate Position
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a gate position at an industrial location in Kansas City, Missouri. The officer will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a professional presence to help deter incidents. The role uses computer- or tablet-based systems to support access operations and provides customer service and clear communication. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.69 per hour. Applicants must meet the age requirement for the applicable unarmed or armed role and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local requirements.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.
Nice To Haves
- Access-control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct approved personnel and deliveries to appropriate areas.
- Observe restricted-area activity and report unauthorized access attempts or policy concerns to help maintain access-control integrity.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established security procedures and escalation protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, the facility perimeter, and other assigned areas.
