Security Officer Access Control CCTV Monitor
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for access control and CCTV monitoring at a utilities location in San Clemente, California. The officer will help safeguard employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by conducting patrols, monitoring access points and restricted areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding to security-related concerns. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, calm incident response, and supporting a welcoming environment and continuity of utility operations. The position is listed as a mix shift, with the following schedule: Monday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, Friday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Saturday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Sunday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. Pay is $23.69 per hour.
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
- Access Control/Badge experience is preferred.
- A Guard Card/License is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond professionally to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, and escalate observations through established reporting channels.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to identify unauthorized activity, hazards, and unusual conditions.
- Monitor access to restricted operational areas, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
- Report damaged fencing, open gates, suspicious packages, equipment concerns, and other security-related observations to appropriate site personnel.
