About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer at a utilities location in Charlottesville, Virginia. The position provides consistent hours at an assigned site and the option to claim additional shifts at other sites. The designated weekly shift serves as an anchor schedule and requires a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may allow the employee to increase hours, potentially up to 40 hours per week, while retaining the option to scale back. The listed rate is $18.54 per hour. The scheduled shift is Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; a valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access-control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utilities location by following site procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency-response procedures when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, equipment areas, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and incident documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazardous conditions, and security-policy violations to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
