About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for an assigned logistics and distribution site in Bedford Park, Illinois. The position has a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may provide opportunities to build toward a schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to scale back. The pay rate is $21.00 per hour. The listed shift is Saturday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for this unarmed role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must undergo a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Must undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• May need to meet applicable state or local security licensing requirements before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and take part in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, parking lots, building perimeters, access points, and other assigned areas to identify unusual activity and deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor vehicle, trailer, and pedestrian traffic at designated entry and exit points; verify access credentials and follow procedures for visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, document observations, and notify appropriate personnel according to established procedures.
• Complete reports, activity logs, and incident documentation accurately and promptly, while maintaining professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
