About The Position

The Security Officer for ParkX Management helps ensure that the facility operates smoothly, safely, and cleanly and provides a positive experience for residents, tenants, and guests. The role includes property patrols, access control, safety observation and reporting, enforcing plaza rules, communicating with guests and management, and supporting event operations at Reston and Loudoun Station. At Reston Station, the officer also manages valet and plaza traffic and helps ensure event marketing plans are followed.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Security officer certification from the District of Columbia.
At least 1 year of experience in a customer-service-related field.
Valid driver's license without major violations.
Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed.
Outgoing personality and ability to relate to diverse groups and build and maintain strong relationships.

Responsibilities

Complete hourly patrol routes of the property using the security system.
Control access for guests, tenants, and vendors.
Help prevent property damage.
Conduct routine foot patrols in and around the building.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Observe and report safety concerns.
Issue banning notices to rule violators, maintain files for those notices, and notify management when necessary.
Maintain the appearance of the two plaza kiosks.
Enforce the no-dogs-on-the-plaza policy.
Keep information such as Kiss N Ride details, contact phone numbers, and rules of conduct updated and communicate it to guests as needed.
Report unknown work occurring at the property to management.
Immediately notify ParkX and commercial and residential property management when someone parks illegally on the plaza.
Tell guests that fire access areas must remain accessible for fire trucks and ambulances.
Close loading dock doors as needed.
Report concerns to management.
Assist the Marketing team before, during, and after events at Reston and Loudoun Station as needed.
At Reston Station, manage valet operations and ensure cars are not parked on the plaza or down ramp.
At Reston Station, ensure the plaza marketing plan is followed during special events.
At Reston Station, manage traffic entering the plaza and keep it moving.
