Security Officer Part Time Access Control Operations
About The Position
As a part-time Security Officer in Access Control Operations at a busy logistics and distribution location in Greensboro, North Carolina, you will help safeguard the site and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries. You will manage site entry, monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and calm, reliable responses to access concerns and other situations. The scheduled shifts are Friday and Saturday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. The pay rate is $16.00 per hour. The position offers access to technology for viewing and claiming additional shifts, paid training and career growth opportunities, participation in a retirement savings plan, and discounts through the company’s Perks Program.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping-related authorizations, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and direct authorized personnel to designated areas.
- Control vehicle, driver, trailer, and delivery entry and exit according to site procedures, escalating access discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations; document observations and notify site contacts as required.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, loading docks, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
