Security Officer Distribution Warehouse
About The Position
As an Unarmed Security Officer at a food and beverage distribution warehouse in Purchase, NY, you will help safeguard the site while providing customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible security presence, respond to incidents and alarms, and document activity using technology. The role supports a welcoming and orderly environment through professional communication, teamwork, integrity, and a reliable approach. This is a full-time position paying $20.25 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations, following site procedures and reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, perimeter, parking areas, loading docks, and warehouse areas; identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials as required, and maintain visitor and delivery records according to site procedures.
- Help maintain orderly access for employees, vendors, and transport drivers.
- Document security-related incidents and communicate observations to site contacts.
