About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a distribution warehouse in Newburgh, New York. The role provides a fixed weekly Saturday shift from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a six-month commitment to the assigned site and shift. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, providing opportunities to earn more and build toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, while retaining the option to scale back. The pay rate is $17.92 per hour.

The Security Officer supports site security through customer service, access control, monitoring and documentation of visitor, contractor, vehicle, driver, and delivery activity, and regular patrols. The officer responds calmly to incidents and escalates concerns according to site procedures. Work environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the distribution location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
• Observe vehicle, driver, and delivery activity at designated entry and exit points; maintain accurate logs and report access concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, using problem-solving skills and escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
