About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the overall security of an assigned facility by enforcing access control, observing and addressing violations of applicable rules and regulations, and reporting security activity. The role supports Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork. The work is performed in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The stated shift is Monday through Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. ET, at a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Continued employment is dependent on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. The prescribed uniform and grooming standards require tattoos to be covered, prohibit tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands, require facial piercings to be removed while on duty, and require clean-shaven facial hair except for a mustache, with clean, neatly trimmed, natural-colored hair.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
Demonstrate commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people in any circumstances.
Use initiative and sound judgment to evaluate and respond to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; a clean motor vehicle record check is required if driving.
Comply with the stated uniform and grooming standards.
Ability to walk, stand, and sit extensively and lift 50 pounds.
Previous experience in security, the military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
