About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of an assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer supports Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in daily work. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time, at a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Extensive walking, standing, and sitting are required, and the officer may encounter threatening situations, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. A clean motor vehicle record is required if driving is part of the work. Uniform and grooming standards apply: tattoos must not be visible in uniform, tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed, facial piercings must be removed while on duty, and facial hair must be clean-shaven except for a mustache; hair must be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
Use initiative and sound judgment to evaluate and respond to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects that improve effectiveness and efficiency, helping drive a culture of constant improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
