About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of the assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to support Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in daily work. The position pays $15.00 per hour and is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean MVR check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random drug screens. Uniform and appearance requirements include covering tattoos while in uniform, no tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands, removing facial piercings while on duty, and maintaining clean-shaven facial hair except for a mustache and clean, neatly trimmed, naturally colored hair.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or GED recipient.
Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
Use initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and responding to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including Closed-Circuit Television Systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects that can improve effectiveness and efficiency, supporting a culture of constant improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
