About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of an assigned facility by enforcing access control, observing and correcting violations, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to support Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in daily work. The role pays $15.00 per hour and is scheduled for weekends only, Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in various weather conditions. The position requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations and exposure to bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or GED recipient.
Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with others.
Use initiative and sound judgment in evaluating and reacting to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.
Must have a clean motor vehicle record check if driving.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, the military, or law enforcement.
Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of constant improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
