Security Officer Full Time
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Ambassador in Durham, North Carolina, to serve and safeguard clients in a healthcare setting. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to help deter incidents, and supports a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves providing customer service, communicating clearly, and using technology to document observations and respond to security-related needs. The position is scheduled for 3:00 PM–11:00 PM on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, at $20.46 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directional assistance, and adherence to site access procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
