Security Officer - Full Time Screener
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer X-Ray Screener in Indianapolis, Indiana, serving clients in logistics and distribution. The officer screens packages, shipments, people, and deliveries; monitors assigned areas; and reports security concerns. The role requires visibility, professionalism, clear communication, and exceptional customer service while helping deter incidents. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The pay rate is $17.22 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under state or local laws. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries entering designated logistics and distribution areas according to site procedures.
- Operate screening equipment and conduct authorized inspections of packages, belongings, and vehicles professionally and respectfully.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, document visitor and delivery activity, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregularities.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations using problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter as directed.
