About The Position

As a Security Officer Screener in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, you will serve and safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. You will support access screening, monitor assigned areas, and help maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors. The position involves using computer or tablet tools to document activity, communicating professionally, and providing customer service.

This is a full-time position paying $20.14 per hour. Scheduled hours are Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements if required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific procedures and security policies.
• Screen individuals, credentials, packages, and deliveries according to access-control procedures, and direct authorized visitors to check-in points.
• Monitor entry points, visitor activity, and screening equipment, and report unusual conditions, access concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following emergency procedures and notifying appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.
