About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for an Amazon warehouse. The role serves and safeguards clients and may include assignments across different sites and industries. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on availability, with opportunities to gain experience across sites. Open availability is required, and officers may be called to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. A current California Guard Card and training certificates are required. Applicants who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or in security may not qualify.

Requirements

• Current California Guard Card with training certificates.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Valid driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• No prior experience required.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by state law (21 years if armed).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Must have open availability; work may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
