About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for an Amazon warehouse. The officer serves and safeguards clients, with opportunities to claim open shifts through the company’s shift-pickup platform and gain experience at various sites. The role requires open availability and may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. Pay is $19.24 per hour. Applicants must have a current California Guard Card with training certificates. People who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or in security may not qualify.

Requirements

• Current California Guard Card with training certificates.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• No prior experience is required.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by state law; 21 years if armed.
• Open availability; shifts may be irregular and offered with little or no advance notice.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including writing clearly, accurately, and informatively.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess situations, identify critical issues quickly, and mediate conflict tactfully and diplomatically.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
• Applicants who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or in security may not qualify.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for unusual conditions that could create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments in the event of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn people of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized people to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as required by site Post Orders.
