About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Screener in Traverse City, Michigan, you will serve and safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. You will help maintain a welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. The role involves providing outstanding customer service, communicating professionally, and remaining visible to help deter incidents. The position is full-time and pays $18.57 per hour. The listed schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors by following site-specific screening procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities.
Screen individuals and permitted items entering the location using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; escalate prohibited items or irregularities according to site policy.
Verify identification, credentials, and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor and access-related records as required.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and complete required documentation.
Conduct regular and random patrols of designated entry points, common areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
