About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to provide access control at a utilities location in Jackson, Mississippi. The officer will manage entry points, verify credentials and authorization, issue badges, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor records. The role also involves remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents while providing professional customer service and communication. Officers may carry out site-specific emergency response activities and follow applicable site procedures and protocols.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and report access-related concerns according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating notifications as directed by site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
Assist with vehicle access procedures, deliveries, and traffic flow at controlled entry points while communicating professionally and following site requirements.
Issue badges and maintain accurate visitor records.
