Security Officer Access Control - Full Time

About The Position

As a Security Officer in Olathe, Kansas, you will help safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. In this access-control role, you will manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. The position is full-time and pays $18.75 per hour. The listed schedule is 6:00 AM–2:00 PM on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; at least 21 years old for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Carry out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor access points for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel; verify credentials and maintain visitor and vehicle entry records as required.
Respond calmly to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry gates, parking areas, loading docks, trailer areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.
Communicate professionally with site personnel, drivers, and visitors.
Report security-related observations, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts.
