About The Position

As a Security Officer providing access control at a retail location in Conklin, New York, you will help maintain a welcoming and secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide customer service to shoppers, associates, and visitors, communicate professionally, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. The role also involves carrying out site-specific procedures, conducting patrols, documenting activity, and responding to critical situations as needed.

This is a full-time position paying $19.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM–11:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM–11:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, associates, and visitors while carrying out access control procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor and control retail location access points and verify authorized entry.
• Maintain awareness of deliveries, vendors, and visitor activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, exits, sales areas, stockrooms, and the building perimeter to identify unauthorized access, hazards, or unusual activity.
• Document access-related activity, incidents, and observations according to site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.
