Security Officer Full Time Access Control
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Access Control Security Officer in Tampa, Florida, serving a food and beverage production or distribution location. The officer will help safeguard the site by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, maintaining a visible presence, and supporting a welcoming environment through customer service and clear communication. The role includes responding to incidents and conducting patrols of designated facility areas. The position pays $17.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements depend on state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, vendors, and employees by carrying out access control procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, issue temporary access credentials, and communicate access-related concerns to appropriate site contacts.
- Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations by following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of facility entrances, parking areas, loading docks, perimeter areas, and other designated locations.
- Document observations, incidents, and daily activities according to Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.
