About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for access control at a manufacturing and industrial location in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. The officer will safeguard clients by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring visitor and employee access, and helping maintain an orderly environment. The role includes customer service, clear communication with site personnel, and professional responses to access-related concerns. Available schedules are 5:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. Officers are scheduled for 40 hours with two days off. Pay is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Monitor and control access to the industrial construction location by verifying credentials, authorizing entry according to site procedures, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
Operate access-control equipment, including gates, badge readers, and visitor management systems, and report equipment concerns through established channels.
Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, work areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
