About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a primarily driving post in Elwood, Illinois. The officer will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, and assisting visitors, employees, and vendors. The role involves remaining visible to deter security-related incidents, communicating professionally, documenting activity using computer or tablet tools, and contributing to a team culture built on integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation.

The schedule is Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.50 per hour. The position includes paid training, access to additional shifts through the Claim a Shift platform, career growth opportunities, participation in a retirement savings plan, and discounts through the Perks Program.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies while providing customer service to clients.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations using a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
• Monitor entry points, verify access, and assist visitors, employees, and vendors.
• Remain visible to help deter security-related incidents.
• Communicate professionally and document activity using computer or tablet tools.
• Perform duties at a primarily driving post.
