About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer for a retail and mall location in Chicago, Illinois. The officer will help safeguard clients by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, providing customer service, communicating professionally, and promptly reporting observations. The role is scheduled for afternoon and evening hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, and pays $19.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet state and/or local licensing requirements if applicable; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and vendors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations; escalate concerns according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, parking areas, building entrances, and the surrounding perimeter.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the property.
Report maintenance concerns, hazards, policy violations, and unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
Prepare accurate reports and communicate with property representatives, Allied Universal leadership, and local emergency responders as needed.
