About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for a government maritime transportation location in Portsmouth, Virginia. The officer will safeguard clients and support a welcoming environment for personnel and visitors through routine patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and customer service. The position is scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and pays $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminals, roadways, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas; report unusual conditions and potential hazards.
Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, helping deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and public-service agencies as directed.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
