About The Position

As a part-time unarmed Security Officer at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Irvine, California, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control and visitor interactions, and providing professional customer service. You will communicate with team members and site personnel and use technology to document activities. The role includes responding to incidents and alarms and following site-specific policies and emergency procedures. The position offers shift-claiming flexibility through Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.

• A guard card or license.
• Access control or badge experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including business spaces, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and observe site activity to help deter unauthorized entry, suspicious activity, and policy violations.
• Accurately document patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
• Assist with access control and visitor interactions.
