About The Position

As a Security Officer in a retail location in Sterling Heights, Michigan, you will serve and safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, supporting access control activities, and assisting customers and employees professionally. You will communicate clearly, document observations using site technology, and respond to concerns with integrity. The position serves a retail and mall environment and is part of a collaborative team focused on service and safety.

Requirements

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local laws and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with store personnel, customers, and responding public service agencies.
