Security Officer - Part Time - Weekends
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer (Screener) at a logistics and distribution location in Miamisburg, Ohio. The officer helps maintain a secure environment by screening personnel, visitors, and/or materials according to site procedures, staying attentive, communicating professionally, and identifying and reporting security-related concerns. The role includes customer service and carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. The posted pay rate is $18.22 per hour, with weekly pay. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Allied Universal offers access to technology for viewing and claiming additional shifts, paid training, career growth opportunities, a retirement savings plan, and discounts through its Perks Program.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Carry out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location while providing customer service.
- Screen personnel, visitors, and/or vehicles entering designated areas according to site requirements and access-control procedures.
- Monitor packages, shipments, and loading areas for unusual activity, prohibited items, or unauthorized access, and report observations to appropriate site contacts.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the business perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
