About The Position

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment at a construction site in Pleasantville, New Jersey. The role involves actively monitoring and patrolling the premises, preserving order, and enforcing site regulations and directives for personnel, visitors, and the surrounding area. Officers may also provide customer service and information to client employees and guests.

The position offers full-time schedules Monday through Friday: either 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Securitas provides training, and no prior experience is necessary, though previous security experience is highly preferred. Candidates with retail, food service, or hospitality backgrounds may also be a good fit.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have standard computer and technology skills.
• Interact professionally with a wide range of individuals.
• Be able to conduct patrols throughout the shift.
• Have strong attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout the shift.
• Hold an active New Jersey SORA license or be able to obtain one.
• Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving history.

Nice To Haves

• Previous security experience is highly preferred.
• Retail, food service, or hospitality industry background is considered a good fit.

Responsibilities

• Resolve conflicts and de-escalate situations.
• Secure entrances and patrol inside and outside the client’s premises.
• Interact frequently with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues or hazardous conditions.
• Clearly and promptly report suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written witness reports.
• Conduct mobile and foot patrols.
• Actively monitor the premises, preserve order, and enforce client-site regulations and directives.
• Provide customer service and information to client employees and customers.
