About The Position

As a Security Officer supporting a government location in Reno, Nevada, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, and providing customer service and communication. You will respond professionally to site needs and help maintain a welcoming environment. This is a full-time position paying $24.00 per hour, scheduled Wednesday through Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Requirements

At least six months of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, depending on state and local laws and regulations.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government locations.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, public spaces, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity and potential hazards.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations, following established post instructions.
Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity, and document incidents according to site procedures.
Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and responding public service agencies as needed.
