About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to support a logistics and distribution location in Kansas City, Missouri. The role focuses on controlled entry and access control, including managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, conducting patrols, and maintaining a visible security presence. The officer provides customer service and clear communication while supporting site security procedures and responding appropriately to incidents.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate access and visitor records.
Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, coordinate with dispatch or site personnel as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activity.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel or emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, trailer yard, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
