About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for access point operations at a logistics and distribution location in San Pedro, California. The officer will safeguard clients and support site operations by managing access, monitoring activity, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. The position is scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM and pays $20.00 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
A Guard Card or license.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and access-control protocols, and supporting emergency response when appropriate.
Monitor and control site access by verifying credentials, screening visitors and contractors, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
Observe inbound and outbound vehicle, trailer, and delivery activity at access points, and communicate with site personnel about authorized arrivals, departures, and restricted areas.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, document observations, and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, dock areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
