About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for access point operations at a logistics and distribution location in Newville, Pennsylvania. The officer will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers. The role maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents while supporting smooth site operations. The position pays $18.54 per hour and is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, document visitor and contractor entry, and direct authorized personnel and delivery drivers according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts or emergency responders as needed.
Maintain accurate logs and reports covering visitor activity, deliveries, access-control events, and unusual occurrences.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
