About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Point Security in South Bend, Indiana, you will safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. You will help manage entry and exit points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and document security-related observations. The role involves maintaining a visible presence, helping deter incidents, and providing professional customer service and communication to employees, visitors, and drivers. The position is full-time and pays $17.22 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related records.
Screen and direct delivery personnel, contractors, and other authorized visitors in accordance with site procedures and traffic-flow requirements.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, employee and visitor areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
