About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Enhanced Security Officer for X-ray inspection at an assigned site in Reading, Pennsylvania. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment, along with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Employees may increase their hours toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week or scale back when needed. The stated pay rate is $18.99 per hour.

The officer provides customer service while screening people, packages, belongings, and vehicles at a logistics and distribution location. The role also includes patrols, incident response, and reporting concerns to site leadership. The listed schedule is Monday, 2:00 AM–10:00 AM. The position requires at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; customer service and X-ray screening experience are preferred.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen employees, contractors, visitors, packages, and vehicles entering or leaving the logistics and distribution location in accordance with established procedures.
• Inspect parcels, personal belongings, and other items as directed while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and promptly report observations and concerns to site leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated loading areas, sorting operations, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
