About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for unarmed patrol zone coverage in Houston, Texas. The role provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, allowing them to increase their hours and work at multiple sites. The role offers a path to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. Pay is $16.38 per hour. The listed schedule is Saturday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, public-service requests, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of municipal facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and activity at assigned locations, reporting unusual conditions, property concerns, and policy violations according to post procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and daily documentation in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal standards.
