About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time enhanced unarmed patrol Security Officer in Washington, DC. The position provides reliable hours at an assigned site, with a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust hours as needed. The listed pay rate is $20.00 per hour. The scheduled shift is Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.

The officer provides customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners; conducts unarmed campus patrols; monitors access points and campus activity; responds to incidents and concerns; and prepares reports while communicating with relevant personnel.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by following site-specific procedures and policies and, when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, access concerns, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate clearly with supervisors, campus stakeholders, and emergency responders as needed.
