About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for entrance verification at a logistics and distribution location in North Charleston, South Carolina. The role helps manage entry and exit activity, monitor access points, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, drivers, and operations. The officer is expected to maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally, and provide attentive customer service while helping deter incidents. The schedule is Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is $22.00 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local regulations.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles, or at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control access at entry points; verify identification and authorization; maintain visitor and vehicle logs; and communicate entry requirements to drivers and delivery personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts or emergency services as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and report security concerns.
Observe and report unusual activity, damaged access points, and policy violations, and complete accurate incident reports and shift documentation.
