Security Officer Part Time Entrance Verification
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Hardeeville, South Carolina, to safeguard a logistics and distribution location. The Access Control Officer manages entry points, verifies credentials, maintains visitor and badge records, and monitors activity to help deter security-related incidents. The role requires professional communication with employees, drivers, visitors, and management, along with customer service, teamwork, and integrity. The posted schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 5:40 AM–4:30 PM. The pay rate is $18.50 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service while following site-specific security procedures and access-control policies, and support emergency response when appropriate.
- Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, processing visitor and contractor entry, and maintaining accurate access records.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating issues according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entry points, shipping and receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter.
- Communicate professionally with personnel, drivers, visitors, and management; report security observations and maintain required documentation.
