About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for electronic entry control in New Castle, Delaware. The officer will safeguard clients by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, and responding to security-related concerns. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service, clear communication, professionalism, attention to detail, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 6:30 PM–4:30 AM, and Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. The pay rate is $22.00 per hour. Applicants must have at least two years of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. A computer or tablet is preferred. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law; licensing may be required under applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Manage access control by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit activity, and maintaining visitor and contractor records according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notify appropriate personnel, and document activities as required.
• Monitor access points, alarm systems, and security-related equipment; report irregularities, damaged equipment, and unauthorized access attempts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
