About The Position

As a Security Officer at a utilities location in Valhalla, New York, you will serve and safeguard clients by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, and helping deter unauthorized entry. You will provide customer service to visitors and personnel, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns. The role is full time and pays $17.63–$18.63 per hour. The stated schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 5:00 PM–1:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. The position uses access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and includes emergency response activities and patrols.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor and control facility access by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
Operate access-control systems, alarms, cameras, and communication equipment; report unusual activity, access concerns, and equipment issues according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
