About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for an entry-control driving post at a chemical/petrochemical location in Linden, New Jersey. The role monitors entry points, verifies access credentials, and helps maintain a welcoming and secure environment for employees and visitors. It includes routine patrols and a visible security presence, with an emphasis on customer service, communication, and responding to security concerns. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; and Sunday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
A valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers while carrying out site-specific security procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities.
Monitor and control assigned entry points by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor documentation in accordance with site policies.
Maintain accurate access-control logs, visitor records, contractor sign-in information, and incident documentation using site-required systems and procedures.
Respond calmly and constructively to access-control concerns, alarms, incidents, and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized access attempts, or security concerns.
