Security Officer Full Time Afternoon Screening
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed patrol and access-screening Security Officer at a retail location in Mebane, North Carolina, you will help safeguard clients, shoppers, staff, and visitors. You will maintain a visible security presence, conduct regular and random patrols, support access control, respond to concerns, and provide customer service while contributing to a welcoming and orderly environment. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and pays $14.50 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any state or local licensing requirements that apply before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, tenants, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail and mall areas, including common spaces, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
- Assist with access control, visitor direction, and incident documentation.
- Help deter unauthorized activity and support an orderly environment.
