Security Officer Full Time Screening
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Screening Specialist for a government location in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role helps maintain a secure and welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, observing activity, and reporting security concerns. It also supports routine site operations through customer service and clear communication. Pay is $17.59 per hour during training and $18.73 per hour after screener certification. Availability is required between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Tuesday, with work until 9 p.m. twice per month. Parking is not provided.
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply before employment, depending on state and/or local laws and regulations.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while following site-specific screening procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
- Screen individuals and belongings using assigned screening equipment and procedures; escalate prohibited items, unauthorized access attempts, and unusual activity according to post orders.
- Verify identification, visitor authorizations, and appointment information before allowing entry to designated areas.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notify appropriate personnel, and document observations as required.
- Maintain accurate screening logs, visitor records, and incident reports while helping deter unauthorized entry and policy violations.
