About The Position

As a Security Officer serving as a screener at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Lexington, Kentucky, you will help maintain a welcoming and secure environment. You will monitor access points, screen visitors and deliveries, verify badges and credentials, and report security-related concerns. The role requires a visible presence, clear communication, and strong customer service while helping deter incidents.

The position is full-time and pays $17.63 per hour. The scheduled shift is 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday. Work environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Loss Prevention experience.
• Access Control or badge experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, delivery personnel, and contractors by following site-specific procedures and access-screening protocols.
• Screen individuals and permitted items entering designated areas, escalating exceptions or concerns about prohibited items to appropriate site contacts.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate screening-related logs and documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, screening areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.
