About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a logistics and distribution location in San Diego, California. The role provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shift, requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shift is Saturday from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Employees may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The pay rate is $18.25 per hour.

The Security Officer provides customer service to clients, drivers, and visitors while following site procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response processes. Duties include screening people and items entering or leaving the facility, monitoring access points and activity, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel entering and exiting the facility according to post orders and screening procedures.
• Inspect bags, packages, and personal items as permitted by site policy, and document and report prohibited items or irregularities.
• Monitor entry points, vehicle traffic, and loading-area activity to deter unauthorized access and support orderly movement.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations using a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated business areas and the perimeter.
