About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across industries such as healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The role provides hands-on experience across a variety of sites and may support career advancement within the company.

The position offers 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary from week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The position is unarmed and involves patrol and tablet reporting in Reston, Virginia. Pay is $35.82 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess an active Department of Defense Top Secret clearance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification; CPR certification is also separately listed as preferred.
• A guard card or license.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary in accordance with site Post Orders.
