About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for foot patrol at a shopping mall in Costa Mesa, California. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned retail areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and contribute to a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and visitors. The role involves customer service, communication, security documentation using computer or tablet tools, and responding to security situations in accordance with established procedures. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday and Thursday, 11:30 PM–8:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements if required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, parking areas, entrances, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, suspicious activity, and critical situations, following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
Monitor access points and support access control procedures for employees, contractors, delivery personnel, and visitors in accordance with location requirements.
Accurately and promptly document patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities in required reports.
